Voting and Election Laws

Every American state and territory makes up its own rules and regulations regarding voter ID requirements, who is allowed to vote and who is not.  Some states have very strict rules and regulations while others are quite lax.

The federal government, through the US Constitution and Federal Voting Rights Laws, ensures that the election process is properly run and honest in each and every state.

This site is also a great reference to study how voters cast their ballots in previous elections, even as far back as 1789! Read reports from the Federal Election Commission, the National Archives, and the resources of the House of Representatives.
