    • Abortion
How much power should the federal and/or state government have in regulating the practice of abortion? Does the fetus have the right to protection or does the mother have the right to be left alone? Does the father have any rights? What alternatives, if any, should government provide?

    • Capital Punishment
This refers to the legal killing of a convicted person as punishment for committing a serious crime. Is this a proper form of punishment? Does it effectively deter this crime from being committed by others? Is it infallible? What is a reasonable alternative? Is it justified in all cases?

    • Education
We have public schools, private schools, charter schools, home schools, religious instruction, online schools, etc.  Are American students getting the best education available? How do the taxpayers pay for it? What drives the costs up or down? How much choice should parents have?

    • Gun Control vs. Gun Rights
The Second Amendment guarantees the right to bear arms. If there were no guns would there be less crime and violence? Are citizens allowed to defend themselves with guns? What regulations, if any, should the government impose? What changes, if any, would you suggest?

    • Immigration
Countries expect immigrants to contribute to the culture and the work force.  Are there sufficient programs available to assist them? Illegal immigration disrupts the country from controlling the flow of immigration. Is this proper or not? What are the effects of open border (no restrictions) policies?

    • LGBTQ
An acronym for a person’s sense of sexual orientation: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning. This community has formed to fight discrimination of their members in society, the work force and in the courts. Are their members served well by this organization? How would you address their concerns?

    • Prison System
Jails contain local perpetrators convicted of misdemeanors or those who are awaiting trial. Prisons, both federal and state, are for those who are convicted of committing more serious crimes. Is there sufficient oversight? Are conditions inside humane and proper? Are there alternatives?

    • Welfare
Its definition means to provide for the “health, happiness, and fortunes of a person or group” paid for by taxpayers to those who cannot. Is welfare a lifesaver in times of need or is it abused to perpetuate poverty? Is this program properly managed? What safeguards, if any, would you propose?
